After leaving Asheville, NC, decided,after a short trip on the AT, to stop in Hot Springs, NC, for the night. Great day, turned out to have a huge festival for thru hikers on the trail, walked into a big party on main st, complete w WELCOME HIKERS banners flying, found this site(supposedly closed), complete w shelter, running water, comfort station and amenities, decided to stay for a few days. Met alot of great people, with a myriad of names like Lando, Greenlight, Bearbait, Tex, Jesus, Meltdown, Socks, Portrait, and many more. Great time!
