Here follows a kind of visual documentation of my trip across America. Sit back, enjoy the pictures and posts. I'm new at this kind of thing, so please, share the journey, be kind in your comments, and hopefully I'll improve the all around quality of the site as I go. For parties interested in contributing to The Great American Cheeseburger Fund, please see earliest post. I thank everyone again for their insight and help along the way.... Hensley Settlement
This was ranger Dave, an amazing fellow who not only gave me a personal tour of the settlement, but treated me to an amazing mesquite chicken AND steak dinner, making the stay @ the campground that much more enjoyable. I would also like to thank Pam Eddy, another ranger who embraces simple life and a love of the outdoors, for her hospitality and helpful information while in the campground and about the surrounding areas, and providing my backcountry permits while out (oh, and for offering to pay for a night at the campground), thank you both for the hospitality! If anyone gets a chance to visit Cumberland Gap, be sure to check out the settlement and the fine campground the Forest Service provides. It'll be well worth the trip.
